Shah lays foundation stone of Rs 450 crore Nano Urea plant in Jharkhand
According to IFFCO, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world's first Nano Urea plant in Gujarat last year. This will be India's fifth Nano Urea plant.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the Rs 450-crore Nano Urea plant and township of the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) at Deoghar in Jharkhand. Shah said that this would help in reducing the dependence on import of urea and in the development of the eastern region, especially the Santhal Parganas. He said, "Farmers will benefit from Nano Urea and it is already being exported to five countries."
According to IFFCO, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world's first Nano Urea plant in Gujarat last year. This will be India's fifth Nano Urea plant.
Shah said, “Prime Minister Modi has given priority to all works related to land conservation across the country. Many urea factories have been restarted by Modi and this small liquid urea factory which is going to be built in 30 acres area will produce about six crore bottles every year which will make India self-sufficient by reducing imports in this sector.
He said that this factory would prove useful in increasing production not only in Jharkhand but also in Bihar, Odisha and Bengal. IFFCO said that Nano Urea improves crop productivity, soil health and nutritional quality of the produce.
IFFCO Managing Director US Awasthi said that the plant is going to be commissioned in December next year. Awasthi informed that the plant would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore and the township would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore.
Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) has allotted 30 acres of land to IFFCO for the campus in Jasidih area of Deoghar district.
